Batumi has once again won the tourism Oscar
Madeira Island in Portugal hosted the World Travel Awards ceremony, which is called the Oscars of the world of tourism. Batumi, a resort town on Georgia's Black Sea coast, was again the winner in the Leading All-Season Destination category. This is the second year in a row that Batumi has won this award. And it is the seventh time in total that Batumi has won the World Travel Awards since 2019.
The city beat strong rivals in the competition, such as Beijing (China), famous for its skyscrapers and cultural monuments, Aspen (USA), popular among winter tourism lovers, as well as Geneva (Switzerland), Melbourne (Australia), Munich (Germany), Oslo (Norway) and Whistler ski resort (Canada).
